Dale Tonkin
North v South
NORTH are starting to get back to playing the way we expect.
I think they are getting their mojo back and bring some momentum into this game. If they can manage to get a few players back that will improve their structure enormously.
I still think their the quickest team across the ground and if they set up good field positions they will be hard to beat.
South will be quite eager to put last week’s loss behind them. As mentioned previously, they are well connected and well organised.
Probably their greatest strength is to win the ball back. So North need to use their skillsets and keep it off the deck.
This game shapes up as a real contest. Both teams are last year’s grand finalists and I expect a physical game.
But it will be above the shoulders, who wins this one.
Both sides have that great array of youth and experience and I like what both teams bring.
I wonder if we get to see Mitchell Henderson this week.
Who is going to mind Nug Purcell? North need to combat Big Browny and Jordan Holmes, and whatever they do, they can’t allow Cat to get off the chain.
Blakey Gebhardt usually does a good job containing Cat Schorn, but it will be the other players putting pressure on around the ground which will determine the outcome.
I’m going chuck myself under the bus here and go the Dogs in a close one, 10 points.
Enjoy the footy, everyone.
