Volunteer grants applications open

FEDERAL Member for Parkes Mark Coulton’s office is now accepting EOI for its 2024-25 Volunteer Grants, open to community originations in the Parkes electorate to aid volunteers.

The grants are open to all volunteer originations and cover amounts between $1000 and $5000, with a total of $66,225 up for grabs across the electorate.

The criteria for the use of funds are either to support communication, insurance or purchases and/or activities that will benefit kids under the age of 18.

“We are lucky to have so many hard-working volunteers in the Parkes electorate who dedicate countless hours of their time to helping our communities,” Mr Coulton said.

“Whether it’s responding to emergencies with the State Emergency Service, volunteering with meals on Wwheels, or helping in the canteen at the junior football, our volunteers play an important role in our communities.”

Mr Coulton said that the Volunteer Grants program was an initiative established to support local volunteers and ensure they can continue their community work.

“I know how beneficial these grants have been to previous recipients over the years, so I encourage all eligible organisations to submit their expression of interest to my office by Friday 10 January 2025.”

This year there are some changes to the grants, so those who intent to apply are encouraged to check criteria and further details on Mr Coulton’s website.

To get a grant, organisations must submit an expression of interest form found on Mr Coulton’s website by AEDT Friday, January 10.
