VERY warm weather did not prevent the attendance by 28 social bowlers at North Broken Hill Bowling Club on Saturday afternoon.
Out of the 10 teams that competed, only one side remained unconquered after two matches.
The winning combination was lead Brad Lane, seconds Bob Sultana (first match) and Denis Watts (second game) and their skip Peter Simons.
The consolation spin saw fortune smile on Eden Ey, Joe Deron and their skip Barry Hooker. Resting touchers were attained by Brad Lane, Lloyd Rawlins and Peter Merritt.
For Tuesday afternoon social bowls, quite pleasant low thirties conditions made life very bearable for the 24 participants.
Three sides emerged undefeated, under the control of Bill Symons, Jeff Rushforth and Peter Simons.
The No.62 on the wheel was top news for Bill’s team, which featured lead Tony Brown and second Bob Sultana. Jeff’s side (Mark Perry and Noel Lane) received some compensation when they won the consolation prize.
There were resting touchers galore with Brian Pascoe (2) leading the way while Bill Symons, Zac Weekes, Tony Brown and Kris Hunter scored one.
Peter Simons’ team did a sterling job when you consider their skip really had a bizarre afternoon with three wrong bias deliveries. Steve Cutting also had a disorganised moment with one.
