LAST Saturday evening, with 38 degrees temperatures forecast, evening bowls was the format decided upon.
Social bowlers responded decisively with 30 participants in attendance on our carpet green.
Three teams emerged victorious in both eight-ends triples contests, under the leadership of Ken Hodge, Peter Gageler and Graham Riley.
The No.50 on the wheel was excellent news for Graham’s trio, comprising split leads Bob Sultana (first game) and Bill Symons (second match), plus second Brian Jones.
The consolation spin went to lead Steve Cicak, second Kristian Sartori and skip Nathan Gageler.
Tony Brown and Brian Jones both scored one resting toucher, while Allan Fraser’s form was as viable as the Melbourne weather with some excellent shot taking deliveries mixed up with two wrong bias bowls.
On Tuesday, very hot weather again put evening bowls on the agenda.
A tremendous 30 social bowlers turned up for two games of eight-ends triples.
There were four undefeated sides, under the control of Peter Simons, Ryan Atkinson, Nathan Gageler and Barry Hooker.
The No.23 was perfect for Nathan’s cohorts comprising lead Alan Fraser and second Joe Deron.
The consolation prize went on Kris Hunter, Steve Cutting and their skip Wayne Anderson.
Barry Hooker was in excellent touch with two resting touchers while Alan Fraser bowled one wrong bias delivery.
