Sacred Heart swimmers star in Sydney

THE outstanding achievements of Sacred Heart students Hamilton Anflous and Rosalie Woodman are being celebrated after the Polding Catholic School Swimming Trials in Sydney.

Representing the Wilcannia Forbes Swim Team, both athletes showed outstanding skill, dedication, and sportsmanship in a highly competitive field of contestants.

Rosalie, who was competing at this level for the first time, swam well in the 8-years 50m Freestyle, posting a commendable fourth position.

Racing at Sydney Olympic Park, Rosalie displayed confidence and determination, proclaiming herself as a young swimmer with a bright future.

Hamilton, swimming in his final year for the diocese, delivered a remarkable performance at the recent championships.

His hard work and dedication paid off as he secured a gold medal in the 50m Butterfly, showcasing his speed and skill in the pool.

In addition, he earned silver medals in the 200m Individual Medley and 50m Breaststroke, with top six finishes in his three other events further cementing his status as a top competitor.

These outstanding achievements have earned Hamilton a coveted spot at the NSW PSSA State Swimming Championships, where he will go head-to-head with the best swimmers from across the state.

His qualification is a testament to his commitment, perseverance, and exceptional talent in the sport.

“As Hamilton prepares for the upcoming state championships, the school community beams with pride, celebrating both his and his teammates’ dedication to excellence,” Sacred Heart Parish Primary teacher Lucy Clarke said.

“We wish Hamilton the very best as he takes on this exciting challenge. Good luck, Hamilton.”
