Alleged knife-wielding man arrested

A 26-year-old Broken Hill man was arrested on Saturday, December 28, after allegedly wielding a knife and assaulting police.

Police attended the scene at 7.55am in Rasp Street, Broken Hill, where they required the use of a taser to arrest the occupant who had armed himself with a knife.

Following the man’s arrest and apprehension of the knife, he was taken to Broken Hill Police Station.

The male has been charged with several offences, including breach of bail, use of defensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, and resisting and assault of police.

The accused was put before the Parramatta Court via video link on Sunday, December 29, with bail refused and a court date in Broken Hill to be determined.
