A WOMAN aged in her 70s was found deceased in a Chapple Street backyard on Thursday 2 January, police have confirmed.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway, with the house established as a crime scene.
Police officers attached to Barrier Police District found the woman’s body at around 5.15 PM following an emergency called being made.
The woman is yet to be identified, however Police believe her to be the home’s occupant.
Following the investigation, a report will be prepared for the coroner.
